Rockdale ISD board approves multiple staff hires and employment contracts

The board recorded motions to accept new Non-Chapter 21 contracts for non-certified professionals and to issue term contracts and renewals for assistant superintendents, principals, and other administrators.
Superintendent Dr. Denise Monzingo informed the board of non-certified hires that included Rikki Rubio (Tiger Learning Center Child Care Provider), Wynton Thomason (Junior High ESL Paraprofessional), Martha Bocanegra (Intermediate ESL Paraprofessional), and Jessica Janak (Intermediate Attendance Secretary). The board approved recommendations to hire and to authorize contract execution, with a motion carried 5–0.
Separately, the board approved individual contract actions: a 1-year Non-Chapter 21 contract for Rebecca King, Business Manager, for the 2025–26 school year; a 2-year Non-Chapter 21 contract for Ken Swiech, Director of Technology, covering 2025–26 and 2026–27; and a 1-year Term Chapter 21 contract for Hunter Hamrick, Director of Athletics, for 2025–26. Each motion was made and seconded as recorded in the minutes and carried unanimously.
