The Rockdale Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the 2025–26 academic calendar at its Feb. 19, 2025 regular meeting. The board voted 5–0 to adopt a calendar that maintains front-loaded fall and spring semesters, aligns Spring Break with Temple College, and schedules graduation before Memorial Day.
Assistant Superintendent Tiffany Whitsel presented calendar highlights, saying the plan will "maintain front-loaded fall and spring semesters to help students establish consistent routines" and noted the calendar committee included parents, community members and staff. The adopted calendar includes 163 instructional days for students and 182 workdays for teachers, a full week at Thanksgiving and two full weeks at Christmas, and designates Fair Day as a student and staff holiday.
Board members who moved and seconded the motion were Julia Cardona and Amy Casas; the motion carried, 5–0. The board directed staff to post the approved calendar and supporting materials on the district website and incorporate the dates into school operations planning.
