The San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Aug. 14 to schedule a Moak Casey strategic-planning meeting on Sept. 17, 2024. Board Vice President Myrna Hernandez moved the schedule, which passed 6–0 with Trustee Axel Lopez absent.
The board set a two-part evening: 5:30 p.m. for a community "belief(s) statement" session and 7:00 p.m. for a special board meeting to complete the TEAM Trust and Good Governance Inventory. Superintendent Dr. Jeannie Meza-Chavez and several trustees said the book-study work on governance informed the need for the community-engaged planning session.
The meeting was approved by roll-call vote recorded in the minutes. No public comment or additional funding action was tied to the scheduling vote; the district will post the formal meeting notice and agenda in advance of the Sept. 17 date.
