Board approves SRO agreements with Elk Grove and Mount Prospect

The CCSD 59 Board of Education approved intergovernmental agreements to provide school resource officer (SRO) coverage with Elk Grove Village and with Mount Prospect. Board members moved, seconded and recorded votes for each IGA; the chair announced the motions carried.
For the Elk Grove Village IGA, the motion was moved and seconded and the roll call recorded board members voting aye (Missus Zach, Missus Kitzinger, Mister Johnson, Mister Chesney, Mister Boeckler, Missus Notini). The same process followed for the Mount Prospect IGA; board members voted to approve both agreements. During the meeting staff noted that Des Plaines intends to finalize its IGA in September but the assigned officer (Officer Gian) would serve day one while paperwork continues.
The approvals were part of the action items on the agenda and were approved on voice/roll call after brief questions; no member lodged opposition to the motions during the recorded votes in the transcript.
