Kenilworth accepts $8,000 CMAP technical assistance to develop a capital improvement plan

Management Analyst Jordan Schmidt told the Board the Village received $8,000 in technical assistance from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to support development of a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). CMAP planners Prithvi Hegde and Patrick Day explained the agency’s ON TO 2050 regional framework and said CMAP will review the Village’s current CIP process, help create a 5‑year CIP and a summary 10‑year CIP, and recommend public engagement and staff training.
Hegde outlined three next steps for the Village: "selecting a consultant to support the project," creating a steering committee to guide community engagement, and setting a target kickoff date early in FY 2026. Trustees asked clarifying questions about the scope and CMAP’s role; Mr. Day and Ms. Hegde answered and the Board authorized the intergovernmental agreement by roll call (6–0).
