The Woodland Park Board of Education voted Feb. 10 to accept the district's 2024 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report prepared by Wielkotz & Co. The board also approved a Corrective Action Plan addressing audit findings.
During the meeting Business Administrator Vincent Occhino explained that the audit "is a required document, which has to be reported in public," and the board discussed audit recommendations. The corrective plan lists discrete steps and deadlines for issues that include collecting political disclosure forms from vendors, ensuring payroll calculations are accurate, timely removal of terminated employees from benefit plans, proper enrollment in the defined contribution retirement program (DCRP), updating fixed asset records and timely filing of TPAF/FICA reports.
Board members cast a roll-call vote accepting the audit and the corrective plan. The action follows the audit report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, and assigns implementation responsibilities (Business Administrator and appropriate staff) with target completion dates listed in the plan.
