Resident Linda Burchi told the board she purchased a shipping container and planned to repurpose it as a shed once her house is built, requesting more time to comply with the village ordinance. "We just want to keep it until the house is built," she said, describing efforts to skirt and roof the container to make it look like a shed.
Trustees debated the ordinance and possible penalties; Trustee Nelson moved (and the board approved) to give Burchi 45 days to remove the container, with a per-diem penalty of $75 per day after that deadline if not removed. Separately, trustees voted that the Burchis must vacate their camper by the end of the year.
