The board voted to put the property at 1102 Springfield St. up for bid with a reserve price of $1,000 and a requirement that a buyer demolish the existing structure within 90 days of purchase. Trustee Lawrence moved the resolution, with Trustee Nelson seconding. The motion passed with Lawrence, Dees and Nelson voting yes; Gibson and Warren voted no; Trustee Paso abstained.
Trustees discussed whether easements on the back of the parcel could be sold and whether asbestos testing and EPA review would be required before sale. Attorney Rahar advised the board to decide how it wanted to proceed before publicly advertising the property. The board directed clerical posting and set the 30-day public notice window required for property bids.
