American Legion asks Kincaid to transfer property so post can pursue $80,000 solar grant

Dale Adomitis, representing the American Legion post that leases the building under a 99-year lease, told trustees the post wants to install solar panels on the south end of the parking lot and needs the village to sign the property to the Legion so it can apply for grants. "It will cost around eighty thousand dollars," Adomitis said, and he asked the village to transfer the property to permit grant applications.
Trustee Lawrence said the item will be added to the next agenda for a vote; trustees discussed that the village owns the building but that membership is declining and the post could eventually revert to the village under certain conditions. No transfer vote or contract changes were approved at the meeting.
