Fairfield recognizes student ambassadors, scholarships and parade award winners

Assistant to the City Manager Liz Aptekar highlighted Fairfield's 55‑year sister‑city relationship with Nirasaki, Japan, and introduced student Ambassador Ryan Lee, who described immersion experiences with host families and schools and invited residents to host incoming Nirasaki students Nov. 28–Dec. 11. Parks & Recreation coordinator Juan Segura presented winners from the 2026 Independence Day Parade, reporting 61 parade entries, more than 1,200 participants and approximately 105 vehicles, and promoted the upcoming Fairfield Tomato and Vine Festival on Aug. 15–16.
Council and staff encouraged community participation in upcoming events and thanked volunteers and partner organizations who support youth and cultural programming.
