Trustee Warren told the committee the board should stop discussing village business on personal email accounts and instead use village-assigned emails for official communications.
"I'm suggesting that Jayme get those emails functional, and we get them assigned to board members for our Village email that way any business will be discussed on Village emails and not our personal emails," Warren said. He said Marla had previously set up similar accounts and that staff should finalize configurations and assignments.
Warren also distributed a social-media policy draft and said all village employees should read and sign it yearly to keep village business off public platforms. Attorney Rahar said discussing email and social-media policy did not appear to exceed his role and that it was appropriate for the committee to review such policies. Jayme reported that updates to her account access had already been completed.
Trustees asked staff to re-send training links and clarify which courses produce electronic certificates vs. those that require printed, signed forms.
