Councilwoman K. Patrice Williams told the city council she has experienced sustained online harassment—anonymous accounts, fabricated profiles and digitally altered images—that has targeted and attempted to silence her. "I have documented activity about 56 incidents," she said, and added she filed a police report and consulted the police chief and city attorney.
Williams said some of the online content included images intended to intimidate and dehumanize and that the city should help residents preserve evidence and find legal and mental‑health resources. She announced a community panel and a live webinar on Oct. 14, timed with National Bullying Month, to teach residents how to recognize online abuse, report credible threats and locate appropriate resources.
Williams said the goal is not to silence political disagreement but to distinguish protected criticism from targeted harassment, threats and doxxing. She encouraged community participation in the panel and posted information on her campaign website about the event.
