Gary Sedlock told the board he had previously purchased Lot 17 from Rodney Standfield but could not secure a clear deed. Sedlock said he had "been to the courthouse and has talked to a couple different Lawyers" and proposed that the lot go to tax auction so that a clear deed could be obtained; he asked the village to instead put Lot 17 up for bids so he could bid for it.
Trustee Paso moved to put the lot up for bids and Trustee Nelson seconded. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. Trustee Lawrence noted the lot is a narrow strip "twenty-five by one forty-one" behind the Cardinal factory and trustees said they had no current plans for the parcel.
Sedlock said acquiring Lot 17 is "instrumental in getting back to the dock back there in order to move goods and services" and thanked the board for considering his request.
