Applicant Mr. Chiarelli told the board he needs the driveway completed this fall to start a house project and prefers relinquishment but is willing to proceed under a license to meet his timetable. Board members said the license can be structured to protect the town and that the discontinuation process (a 30‑day warning, site visit, public hearing and up to 60 days to decide) could proceed in parallel. The motion passed with members expressing support for prompt attorney drafting and offering to convene a special meeting if needed.
