Commission reviews bids, awards contingent contract and receives multiple road-project updates
Summary

County engineering staff opened bids for the 2026 Thompson project and related pit contracts. Staff recommended awarding the project to the low responsive bidder (Weyrich Construction) subject to the engineer and road superintendent’s final review and verification of bonds and licenses; commissioners approved awarding the contract contingent on that review.
The county engineer reported several ongoing projects: guardrail work on seven bridges nearing completion, crushing operations and aggregate sampling at multiple pits, and a countywide chip-seal program planned to complete sealing operations by Sept. 1. Staff also updated commissioners on the 15th Street grading and realignment project, which remains under environmental review by the Forest Service before plans can be finalized.
Separately, commissioners approved a NDDOT resolution (BRJ0004057) to accept the state low bid for a related county project; staff will send the signed resolution when available.
