The Royse City ISD Board approved a slate of recommended hires and accepted multiple staff resignations on Feb. 3 after meeting in closed session under state law.
Bobby Summers moved to "approve the recommendations for hire of the following: Michah Hon, RCHS; Marisol Aguilera, Summers; Macy Kendrick, Walker; Jacob Howell, Baley; and Lynsi Arango, Curriculum," and Dr. Brian Zator seconded the motion; the board recorded the motion as passed, 5-0. Later in the meeting, Jessica Ratterree moved and Amanda Self seconded a motion to accept resignations from Michael Medlin (BLC); Jeffery Gonzales (RCHS); Derek Greenawalt (RCHS); Matthew Greene (Summers); Dulce Fuentes (Davis); and Brooke McMaster (RCHS); that motion also passed 5-0.
The board met in closed session citing Texas Government Code §551.072 (real estate) and §551.074 (personnel) before reconvening at 6:38 p.m. The meeting record lists the names of the hires and the resignations approved; no additional details about closed-session deliberations were disclosed publicly.
