Board receives governance training and discusses The Governance Core chapters
Summary
During the Sept. 17 special meeting trustees participated in MoakCasey-led team-building and advocacy training and discussed chapters 3 and 4 of The Governance Core, focused on superintendent governance mindset and welcoming new trustees.
The San Elizario ISD board participated in team-building and advocacy training provided by MoakCasey, LLC, as part of its meeting on Sept. 17, 2024.
Dr. Jodi Duron led both a team-building session that included an introduction to the district’s strategic-planning process and an "Advocacy & Engagement" module that covered a "Setting the Belief(s)" exercise with the Strategic Advisory Committee. Trustees also discussed chapters 3 and 4 of The Governance Core, which address superintendent governance mindset and welcoming new trustees. Board members shared quotes and comments on the assigned chapters.
The training was presented as part of statutorily required board development and orientation activities; no formal board action was recorded on the training items.
