Dauphin County Planning Commission approves staff recommendations; hears transport and housing updates

The Dauphin County Planning Commission met Aug. 3 and approved the minutes from its July 13 meeting and a series of routine staff recommendations, the chair announced.
Staff reported there were no unusual expenses and the commission voted to transfer subdivision review fees to the Tri‑County authority as part of regular processing. The panel ratified staff comments on eight subdivision/land‑development proposals and approved zoning and ordinance recommendations for several municipalities.
"We got another $1,200,000 to spend for the next year 2 years," staff member Jerry said when summarizing a recent capital assistance program award and the upcoming use of grant funding. Commissioners also heard an LPA progress report on a regional congestion management plan, a human‑service transportation plan and the 2027–2030 Transportation Improvement Program submission.
The meeting concluded with approval of three pedestrian‑safety projects and the commission setting its next meeting for Sept. 14.
