Statham presents preliminary June financials; city flagged FY26 audit and $226K grant noted

The Statham City Council on Aug. 4 received a preliminary financial report for the period ending June 30 that city staff described as incomplete pending audit adjustments. "These should not be considered final until the fiscal year 2026 audit has been completed," a finance department staff member told the council.
The presentation said the city has received about 98% of budgeted revenues for the year and that most revenue categories exceeded 100% except licenses and permits and charges for services, the latter largely driven by lower rental income at the community center. The report also said general fund expenditures are at roughly 89% of the annual budget and that event net costs for fiscal year 2026 were just over $6,000. Staff added they will present monthly reports one month in arrears to include accruals.
The finance presentation flagged a received LMEGSAP grant "awarded for just over $226,000," and staff said June accruals remain anticipated. Councilors were reminded that additional June invoices could increase expenditures and that final figures would depend on the pending audit.
