Board debates roof repair and where to relocate town hall solar panels
Summary
Members reviewed a $38,000 roof estimate and discussed options for existing solar panels — re-mount on the new roof, place on racks in the parking lot, or move to ground-mounted stands in a field. The supervisor will gather vendor estimates and report back next month.

The board returned to a discussion about repairs to the town hall roof and the status of solar panels currently mounted on the roof. A roofing company gave an estimate of about $38,000; members expressed concern about how to handle existing panels during work and whether reinstallation would be covered under warranty.
One board member argued against re-mounting panels on the new roof and proposed ground-mounted stands in the parking lot or field to avoid repeated removal/reinstallation costs. "I don't think we should be putting them back on the roof... maybe putting them on stands in the field," a board member said, noting examples where panels are ground-mounted to avoid roof disturbance. The supervisor agreed to contact Suncom and other vendors to get cost estimates and return with options at the next meeting.
