Board members said they are coordinating with an architect and gathering cost estimates and paperwork required by the grant. One board member noted difficulty locating the deed to the field and said they will search county records and provide the deed to funders; the group set a March 14 paperwork deadline. During the drafting of the resolution the board corrected the grant date in the resolution language, noting the award date should read 05/18/2024 rather than earlier typed text. "Whereas the town board of the town of Ancram has received notice of a grant funding award in the amount of $125,000 from the office of Didi Barrett," the resolution states, and the board approved an amendment to establish the budget line.
Board members said they expect to identify a pavilion location, obtain contractor estimates and aim to complete the project in time for next summer's camp season, depending on site, funding and permitting.
