Town hears utility-pole replacements and county culvert detour that will affect local travel

"There are 2 poles that will be replaced," she said, describing locations near the firehouse and on Route 82 north of a nearby house; she said work was necessary because damaged lines could cause large outages.
Separately, board members noted a county plan to replace a culvert on County Route 7 in the Town of Gallatin. A board speaker said the work will require a posted detour between County Route 7 and the Taconic Parkway with intermittent impassability on affected roadways and that the detour is expected to remain at least through October.
The board agreed to monitor the schedule and communicate any closures or detours to residents once the county and utility companies finalize dates. Staff said they would share maps and contact information about the pole and culvert work when available.
