Comal County Commissioners approved an amendment on Oct. 30 to extend a sales tax‑sharing economic development incentive agreement with HD Supply Facilities Maintenance Limited for a 10‑year term that will expire Oct. 30, 2035.
County staff reviewed the agreement’s history—original contract in 2004, a 2006 update when HD Supply split from Home Depot, and a renewal in 2016—and said a 2021 pause resulted from questions about where sales tax revenue was sourced. Staff said those questions have been resolved and HD Supply asked to renew with additional provisions. The court approved the amendment by motion and voice vote; staff and outside counsel were present for questions.
No vote tally was read into the record; the judge announced the motion carried. The amendment will be filed and executed per county contracting procedures.
