County Administrator Carrie Kipfer told the board that valves in the courthouse heating system began failing last winter and, after testing, Siemens recommended replacing six valves and two shutoffs. Commissioners authorized a $13,699 purchase authorization to Siemens; the commissioners also noted boiler-section replacements referenced at a prior meeting were completed and covered by the Risk Pool Boiler Coverage.
Siemens will shut down and drain the system to perform the work and then restart it once the parts are replaced. The authorization passed on a 3-0 vote.
