Sheriff Todd Brackett told commissioners the morning jail count: Lincoln 29; Sagadahoc 13; Knox 46; Penobscot 46 — a total of 134. He presented a payment authorization to Hillside Collision Center for $7,774.68 related to a deer collision; the MCCA Risk Pool will cover all but the $2,500 deductible. The board approved that payment 3-0.
Brackett also presented a $10,704 payment to Motorola Solutions for three additional car and body-camera subscriptions and a $39,126 payment to Key Auto for a new unmarked Dodge Durango previously approved through the bid process; both payments were approved 3-0. He explained a one-year MDEA contract that will reimburse Sergeant Ron Rollins' wages, benefits and other expenses totaling $189,755.33 for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027; commissioners approved entering the contract 3-0. Brackett said the MDEA hire will create at least one vacancy in CID for at least one year.
