The town board voted to adopt rules and regulations for the newly completed pavilion, approving hours of operation, maximum occupancy and a permit process for groups. After discussion in which the FACT committee recommended a $75 fee for groups of 30 or more and a $50 refundable deposit, the board amended the draft to add a carry-in/carry-out garbage rule and to prohibit alcohol unless a permit and an insurance rider are provided.
"The recommendation from the FACT was $75 fee for groups of 30 or more plus another $50 for a refundable deposit," a FACT representative said during the discussion. Board members raised concerns about enforcement, parking for large events and the need for a single point of contact to manage reservations. The board agreed to post metal signs with the rules near the pavilion and to maintain a calendar on the town website for reservations. A motion to approve the rules as amended passed on an aye vote.
