Maybrook tables wastewater contractor payments; engineer reports leak and $170,000 CDBG award

The Village of Maybrook tabled two contractor payment applications after Engineer S. Hoffman reported the applications were not received: General Contractor’s Application for Partial Payment No. 7 for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent Disinfection project and General Contractor’s Application for Partial Payment No. 1 for the Sludge Digester Dumpster Roof. The Board left both items on the table until the paperwork is provided at a future meeting.
Hoffman also updated the Board on construction and testing: during clean-water testing of the UV system a leak was identified and engineers determined it was likely in outside piping where the system ties to a valve. Hoffman said the county has approved documents for a previously authorized CDBG project; he reported the village received a $170,000 Community Development Block Grant to support sewer work. The Clerk added that the UV grant was filed that day, and Trustee Capozzoli described upcoming contractor walk-throughs and a February schedule for the sludge-press roof work.
