Santo ISD renews multiple teacher contracts, approves hires and specialist contract
Summary

After meeting in closed session under Texas Government Code 551.074, the Santo ISD Board of Trustees reconvened and approved a slate of personnel actions for the 2025–26 school year.
Trustee Amy Bryan moved to renew elementary teacher contracts presented by Elementary Principal Haley Price; the motion passed 7–0. The minutes list elementary staff renewed (sample names from the minutes): Shanna Andreatta, Kyla Edge, Jessica Lockhart, Katie Perkins and others. The board then voted 7–0 to renew secondary teacher contracts presented by Secondary Principal Randy Thornton (sample names: Mark Belding, Marcus Cook, Laura Horner, Rita Tallant and others). Trustees also approved renewal of a dual‑role coaching/teacher contract presented by Athletic Director Devon Mann & Randy Thornton, renewed SPED/SSA term contracts, and renewed Christy Taliaferro as Tech Integration Specialist/PEIMS Coordinator under a Non‑Chapter 21 contract; each personnel motion recorded a 7–0 vote. Separately, the board voted to offer one‑year probationary contracts to secondary teachers Wendy Flynn, Amanda Mitchell, and Caroline Osteen (7–0).
