Council authorizes design agreement for Broadway sewer upgrade; developer escrow covers design cost

Council approved Resolution 25-26-20 to authorize an agreement with KB Engineering & Architectural PC for design services on the Broadway Sewer upgrade.
Assistant engineer reported a roughly 300-foot section on Broadway Hill where a 12-inch sewer line narrows to 8 inches, creating a bottleneck during peak flows. “They're gonna design an increase to that, up to a 12 inch, and remove that issue,” the engineer said. Staff said the developer placed $25,440 in escrow to cover engineering design fees; the city will administer construction and inspection while the developer will reimburse engineering inspection and construction costs when construction begins.
Council members recorded their approval by roll call and noted there is no cost to the city for design escrowed by the developer.
