Comal County adopts updated precinct boundaries for 2026 primary after state redistricting
Summary
Following state redistricting and a U.S. Supreme Court order, Comal County commissioners adopted updated precinct boundaries for the 2026 primary, moving precincts on one side of I-35 from Congressional District 35 to 21.
Comal County officials adopted updated precinct boundaries at their Dec. 18 meeting to align with the 2025 state redistricting ordered into effect for the 2026 primary. Staff said the boundaries were contested in court but the Supreme Court directed use of the 2025 plan.
“...that we would use the boundaries in the 2025 redistricting,” said staff member Jaqueline, explaining that precincts 201, 202, 302, 304 and 306 will remain the same but change from Congressional District 35 to 21 on the relevant side of Interstate 35. The motion to adopt the updated precincts was seconded and approved by the court.
