Newly elected members of the Cambridge School Committee were sworn into office at an inauguration and organizational meeting that included ceremonial music and two guest speakers. Interim City Clerk Paula Crane administered oaths of office to each member; student hosts Eva Osroff and Zeehan Grama led the pledge and program.
David J. Weinstein, the committee's most senior member, was nominated and elected chair after roll-call voting. "I will call the meeting to order," Weinstein said after accepting the role and reading the required affirmation of duties. Luisa De Paula Santos nominated Caitlin Dubey for vice chair; following a roll-call vote Dubey was announced as vice chair and subsequently took the oath for that office.
The meeting included roll-call confirmations of the full committee membership and an announcement of a special organizational meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, to be livestreamed and broadcast on Cambridge Educational Access TV. Chair Weinstein noted there would be no public comment at that special meeting.
