Mayor: railroad crossings to be repaired, sewer lining and downtown bids coming

Mayor Myers reported several planned public-works actions at the Aug. 18 meeting. He said railroad crossings across town "will all be repaired and all four receive new gates" and that the Carr Street crossing will be widened to ease conflicts when two vehicles meet at the crossing. He also said sewer lining will be contracted for the fall and that bids for downtown street and sidewalk refresh will go out in early January.
Mayor Myers asked that oversized-load concerns, which have caused damage to trees, be added to the Sept. 2 agenda. He confirmed the next regularly scheduled council meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 at 7:00 PM. No project schedules, contractors, or estimates were discussed during the report.
