Knoxville Council swears in re-elected officials, reconvenes after brief adjournment

Mayor Toby Myers called the Regular Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM and administered oaths of office to re-elected officials, including Treasurer Janet Barnum, First Ward Aldermen Angela Hillier and Jon Rainey, Second Ward Alderman Tyrone Taylor and Fourth Ward Alderman Johnathan Reed. The council approved the April 21, 2025 minutes by voice vote before temporarily adjourning sine die at 7:06 PM.
The meeting reconvened at 7:07 PM with the same membership present (Aldermen Eiker, Gruner, Hillier, Hope, Rainey, Reed and Taylor; Alderman Moore absent). The reconvened session proceeded to regular agenda items, including public comment and business motions later in the evening.
