The Florence Board approved three separate public-works contracts during its Oct. 21 meeting: AJ Construction, Inc. for a 6-inch asphalt base repair downtown at Church & Main Street for $7,700; Precision Spray Foam of Mississippi to spray foam the 50x40 public works shop for $6,825; and Apex Electric, LLC to install a spider-box electrical system on Earl Clark Street for $7,129.32.
Each contract was presented on recommendation of Street Director David Myers (paving and spray foam) or the Park Director (electrical). The minutes note that each approved quote was the lowest of the bids received: paving (AJ Construction $7,700; Pavepro $11,300; AAA Asphalt Paving $12,616.65), spray-foam (Precision Spray Foam $6,825; Energy Insulation Solutions $7,965), and electrical (Apex Electric $7,129.32; EES Electrical Services $7,968.58). All three motions passed unanimously.
The approvals authorize the work to proceed; the minutes do not specify project start dates or funding line items in the city budget.
