The City of Florence on Aug. 19 approved three separate payments to Maintenance Systems, Inc. for water-utility work carried out under the company's contract. Alderman John Banks moved to approve invoice M25017-G-1F for $13,618.95 for exploratory digging and a 4" insertion valve; Alderman Brian Grantham moved approval of invoice M25017-H-1F for $8,281.27 for time-and-materials backflow-preventer modifications; and Alderman Mason Herrin moved approval of invoice M25017 I 1F for $7,467.16 for excavation and assistance with 6" and 12" insertion valves. Each motion was seconded and carried by a unanimous vote.
The three payments sum to $29,367.38. The board approved the invoices during its regular session after the invocation and roll call; motions were made by Aldermen Banks, Grantham and Herrin and carried without dissent. The invoices were identified in the meeting minutes by their invoice numbers and described as repairs under the extraordinary terms and conditions of MSI, Inc.
