During its May 20 meeting the board recognized Senior of the Year Addie Clampitt and acknowledged staff appreciation activities and community thank-you notes. Superintendent Erica Smith reported that $20,900 in scholarships were awarded at the Academic Awards Night.
Principals and directors summarized student activities and achievements across levels: Amanda Shoopman reported early childhood enrollment and events; Curriculum leadership outlined writing-curriculum committee plans; Chevi Ingalls summarized elementary activities; Principal Tracy Rhea said the junior high had 35 track athletes qualify for state competition, including the 8th grade boys 4x100 relay that won a state title; and Principal Zak Huston recapped senior events, prom results, band competition trips and graduation plans.
The items were presented as routine administrative reports and acknowledgements; no formal board action was required for the recognitions and reports.
