The Heritage Pines Community Development District board voted unanimously Feb. 18 to approve A-Z Tree Service's estimate of $600 to remove a hazardous tree with stump grinding behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive.
The agenda presented three A-Z proposals: Clean Up and Trim for $350; Remove with Stump Grind for $600; and Forestry Mulch Around Pond for $5,475. "On MOTION by Mr. Walsh and seconded by Mr. Putman, with all in favor, the A Z Tree Service, LLC estimate to Remove with Stump Grind Behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive, in the amount of $600, was approved." The approval followed resident reports that the tree and an accompanying debris pile on CDD land posed storm-related risks to nearby homes.
District Manager Chuck Adams and Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz discussed differences between A-Z's forestry-mulch approach and Environmental Solutions' handwork approach; Adams said ES's handwork would likely be more aesthetically pleasing while A-Z's forestry mulcher grinds vegetation.
