Lowell awards multiple road contracts, approves $58,627 Mud Lake project revision
Summary
At a special June 9 meeting, the Town of Lowell awarded sealcoating, wedging and other contracts and approved a revised Mud Lake Road contract with Lauersdorf Excavating that increased the price to $58,627 after adding gravel.
Chairman John Schmitt opened a special bid session June 9 and received bids from Fahrner Asphalt, Kartechner Brothers, Northeast Asphalt, Scotts Construction and two bids for Mud Lake Road.
Supervisor David Huebner moved and Chairman John Schmitt seconded approval of Fahrner Asphalt for townwide sealcoating at $117,924.00 (single seal). The board also approved Northeast Asphalt for wedging at a base proposal of $5,450.00 (final cost to depend on tons used). Clerk Kim Mann will email signed proposals to the selected vendors.
The board awarded Lauersdorf Excavating $5,000.00 to grind brush along Mud Lake Road and later approved a revised Mud Lake Road proposal after a vendor phone change: the original $51,537.00 proposal was increased to $58,627.00 to add 456 tons of gravel billed at $15.55 per ton. Motion records show each of these actions carried with 2-Yeas, 0-Nays.
