Board OKs three-year teachers contract with multiyear raises and higher base pay

The Chadwick-Milledgeville Board voted to approve a three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement (2026—29) with the teachersassociation at the May 18 meeting. Board members moved and seconded the motion; roll-call details show unanimous aye votes among those present. Superintendent T. Schurman thanked board representatives and the union bargaining committee for a positive negotiation.
According to the superintendent, the contract contains multiyear salary increases of 4.5%, 5% and 5.5% over the three years, raises the base teacher salary to $51,000, establishes longevity increases at five and ten years of service, provides 10 maternity/parenting days for a new child, and adds sick-day provisions for employees with 25 years of service who have at least 15 years in the district. "It is a good contract," Superintendent Schurman said during the report.
