Board amends 2026—27 calendar so district can host NUIC music festival

Chadwick-Milledgeville CUSD 399 approved an amended public school calendar for 2026—27 at the May 18 meeting after the board discussed the districthosting the NUIC Conference Music Festival on March 12, 2027. The board voted to make that date a non-attendance day and extend the school year by one day to meet required instructional minutes.
Superintendent T. Schurman said the decision to make March 12 a non-attendance day flows from the district hosting responsibilities for the music festival; the amended calendar was approved by voice vote with six ayes and no nays.
