High school principal reports sports, FAFSA night and career fair participation

Principal Willard reported to the board that the first quarter concluded Oct. 9 and that several extracurricular activities and career-preparation events occurred in September and October. Five students competed in the IHSA golf regional; junior high girls basketball has started and wrestling is scheduled to begin the first week of November. Willard also noted that Mr. Vogel and National Honor Society students raised funds via bake sales and that agricultural classes are installing flower beds and a worm farm.
Willard said Mrs. Probst hosted a FAFSA completion night on Oct. 2 and escorted upperclassmen to multiple career fairs on Oct. 1, Oct. 3 and Oct. 8 (including events at Deland-Weldon and Kirby). The report was informational; no formal board action attached to these items in the minutes.
