The Village of Cerro Gordo Board on Jan. 19 approved a $9,999 contract to TNC Explosives for the village fireworks display. Trustee N. Hyde moved approval and Trustee Keirl seconded; roll call recorded 5 Ayes and 0 Nays.
Guest Jeff Lawyer told the board that last year the Legion donated $8,000 and that the Legion and Auxiliary have pledged smaller donations this year: $3,000 and $1,000 respectively. The board recorded these reported donations in the discussion supporting the contract vote. The board assigned follow-up to finalize the contract with TNC Explosives.
