Board approves supplemental CCAP agreement with Cuesta College for film course

Board approved a supplemental College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) agreement with Cuesta College so students can receive concurrent enrollment credit for an introductory film course taught in person by the district's newly hired instructor.
The Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District board approved a supplemental CCAP agreement Oct. 21 that will allow district students to receive concurrent-enrollment credit for an introductory film and video production course through Cuesta College.
"It's in person with our, new, film teacher, mister Heimerdinger," the superintendent said, explaining that Allan Hancock College declined to approve the instructor's minimum qualifications for the course and that Cuesta College was willing to provide the concurrent enrollment partnership. The arrangement follows AB 288/359 pathways that allow supplemental agreements when a home college denies approval.
District staff and board members said the supplemental MOU preserves the pathway so students can earn college credit for the course; the board approved the CCAP agreement by roll call with all present members voting in favor.
