Casey Kaplan, the district's student board representative, told trustees that student activities are off to a strong start. She said ASB has run successful orientation events, homecoming-theme voting will close Friday, and the fall sports assembly is scheduled for Thursday the 21st. Kaplan cited academic gains: "we raised our state test scores for English by 14% and math by 8.5%."
Kaplan also provided details on clubs and FFA participation at the county fair and encouraged student engagement at the club fair on Tuesday the 26th. The board thanked Casey for her report and praised student leadership and involvement.
Why it matters: The student report gives trustees and the public a snapshot of student morale, extracurricular engagement and early-year academic indicators.
