"The bonus covered 76 employees at a total cost fully encumbered for statutory benefits of $413,126," district staff said, adding the payment will be covered by an increased ending fund balance in the general fund. Staff described the payment as a uniform, fixed amount rather than a percentage-based payment to avoid disparities across pay classifications.
Board members supported the measure in discussion, with one member calling the bonus "well deserved" and another noting that uniform bonuses can be especially meaningful to lower-paid staff. The motion passed by roll call; all present board members voted in favor.
The district staff said the bonus terms were negotiated with bargaining units and apply to employees not on administrative leave as of Oct. 1, 2025. No implementation date beyond the fiscal-year certification form (AB 1200) referenced in the staff report was provided during the meeting.
