Weidner told the board that online registration opens Aug. 1 and new-student registration begins Aug. 4, with the first day of school set for Aug. 14. The superintendent reported average daily attendance increased from 414 to 426 compared with the prior year. Facility work described in the minutes includes Beck Tech installing new cameras, upgraded flooring in the junior-high addition hallway, removal and replacement of old high-school lockers to match existing panels, installation of elementary cafeteria tables, and A/C repairs in the junior-senior high office area and the elementary school. The minutes note a video board delivery and installation in the gym scheduled for Aug. 12.
Weidner also reported the district will host fundraising and community events—an FFA tractor raffle this fall and that the district hosted Cycle Across Illinois on July 10—and noted the first tax-extension payment from Piatt County for FY26 and a year-over-year rise in sales tax revenue from Macon and Piatt counties (from $259,731 in FY24 to $282,383 in FY25). The minutes record two FOIA requests from Owen Wang of the Chambana Sun; one was partially fulfilled on June 18 and another was fully fulfilled on June 23.
