The board reviewed maintenance and capital work for village parks and the pond during the July 21 meeting. Trustee Monta Hyde presented a Shoreline Aquatics estimate of $21,230 to install riprap (3–5 feet) around eroded portions of the pond; Hyde said he will inspect current conditions and report back with details and benefits.
Trustee Nick Hyde reported TruGreen provided multiple options for park maintenance. The board approved flea-and-tick treatment at all three village parks and directed staff to run a trial of weed control and fertilization at Born Park. No final contract for pond repair was approved; trustees moved the pond item to Unfinished Business pending inspection and additional detail.
