The Village of Cerro Gordo Board of Trustees adopted Ordinance 697-2025 at its July 21 meeting, approving the village’s FY2025 appropriations. Trustee Walsh moved to approve the ordinance and Trustee Keirl seconded; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all trustees voting in favor.
The vote follows an FY2024 audit that took place July 7–8; village officials said auditors will compile the results and may present them at the August meeting. The board also discussed financial housekeeping earlier in the meeting, including newly established Illinois Funds accounts and initial transfers into the General, Sewer and Business District accounts.
The ordinance adoption is a formal budget step that sets spending authority for the fiscal year. The board did not amend the ordinance on the floor; trustees said routine budget oversight and monthly financial reporting will continue.
