Long Lake board signs MOA with regional planning board and approves $35,000 work order to update Comprehensive Plan

The Town Board adopted Resolution 34 authorizing the Supervisor to sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Lake Champlain–Lake George Regional Planning Board to provide professional planning services on an as-needed basis. The board followed with Resolution 35, authorizing Work Order #1 for a Comprehensive Plan update at a cost "not to exceed $35,000."
Board members framed the comprehensive-plan update as a vehicle for wider community engagement and a way to identify infrastructure and strategic priorities independent of any potential private gift. Supervisor Clay J. Arsenault said the planning process would be "one more way to involve the community in developing the visions and articulating the needs and benefits of certain infrastructure and planning efforts."
The work order language approved by the board caps the project at $35,000. The board approved both measures unanimously; motions were moved and seconded during the meeting. The planning board represents five Upstate New York counties, including Hamilton County, and will provide professional community-planning services to assist Long Lake with the update.
