"The team respectfully requests the Board of Education's approval of the recommended adoption of Simplify Science," the review team stated. Team members — Trent Halpin, Amanda Fluegel, Kendra Mescher, Amy Sweeney and Rachael Mullen — told the board they analyzed multiple programs, evaluated assessment components and prioritized hands‑on, inquiry‑based student engagement.
The team characterized the recommendation as unanimous and said the materials would promote deeper understanding while supporting varied learning needs. The recommendation was presented for the board's consideration; no final adoption vote was recorded during the committee meeting, and the item will move to the next Regular Board meeting for formal action.
